A Prayer for My Pastor’s Wife

Thank you, Father, for my pastor’s wife.

She is one of the happiest people I know. Whenever she sees me, her face brightens into a smile showing me that she’s genuinely glad to see me. Her smile makes me smile back, even if I’m having a fragile day. Her smile warms my heart.

Father, please let my smile do the same for her. Let her know how much I appreciate her.

Thank You for her creativity – from refurbishing furniture to knitting (or is it crocheting?) to crafting – and that she uses her talents to encourage others. Thank You for her compassion. Thank You that I can learn from her example even though she is the same age as my daughter!

Father, show me how I can encourage her this year and let me be a godly example to her.

I know the family has many adventures ahead of them this year. Please give wisdom as they plan life as a family of five. Give discernment as they set priorities. Protect time spent with You each day, Lord. Help her develop a strong prayer life. Open her eyes to new truths in Your Word. Comfort her each day and give her strength to take on the challenges of being a pastor’s wife, a mom, and a woman of grace. Give her joy.

Father, open my eyes to how I can lift her up before the throne of grace and help fight the fiery darts of the enemy.

For pastors’ wives all over the globe, Father, raise up women who will pray for them, encourage them, and appreciate them. I ask for protection for them as well from the attacks of the enemy. Protect them in the midst of struggles and challenges. Give them shouts of joy all through the year as they see Your hand leading them. Open their eyes as they read Your Word. Let them grow in love and obedience to You.

May we all realize that we are here at Your pleasure. Help us do the things that are worth more than anything this world can give us. May we glorify You in our lives this year.

Amen
